Aspire Film Lab Odesa
I gave two lectures on “Filmmaking” as part of the Aspire Filmmaker’s Workshop. While war continues to rage in Ukraine and political uncertainty grows, 45 passionate film enthusiasts gathered for a week to learn the art of filmmaking. During those days, the focus was solely on film and art- not on war.

My lectures explored “Idea Generation /"How We Create Ideas” and an “Inspiration Course” on using other art forms as sources of inspiration for film and storytelling. Participants were taken through a wide range of writing exercises and creative scenarios, and challenged to develop their own unique ideas.

The project was created to inspire young Ukrainians to enter the world of film -to keep dreaming despite the war -and to highlight the importance of continuing to create.
Aspire Filmmaking is a workshop for young Ukrainians, offering them the chance to learn the fundamental elements of filmmaking. The initiative is a collaboration between Natasya Maestro and the film company Konon Rocks, Natashee Niaro, and Alexey Kononenko.
